I want to see God, but wouldn't I go insane? I don't think I really care right now
I feel like I'm here to achieve a purpose on this planet; to succeed, and succeed very highly at that. I've been setting myself goals, but not short term goals, and that's where the problem's coming from. I am human after all, and I need to take small steps. That is, to do menial tasks until I'm used to them, then step up.
I've been up on a pedestal for a good period of my life, and I fell off it recently, and I've been trying to get back on it with little success. Thus I am building myself a staircase of goals to get back on it.
I thought I was Jesus for a week once.
The problem's plain to see... too much technology...
Styx makes a relevant quote to my life. I'm on the computer far too often. I need to get off it and start socialising, or working at bettering my life. Maybe I'll be lucky and find a girlfriend, but I don't want to set myself on side goals.
Also, I wouldn't mind becoming Buddhist.

All About Lily Chou-Chou, musings
I recently watched the movie "All About Lily Chou-Chou" again. It's a live action Japanese movie written and directed by Shunji Iwai. As I am pretty obsessed with Japanese culture and movies, I watched it for the first time in 2002 or 2003 on World Movies, back when I lived with my parents and still had Foxtel. It was a really inspiring movie, but I didn't understand it. It's one of those movies that you only really understand after repeated viewings. One of the main reasons is that the movie isn't shown in chronological order. You have to listen to what the characters are saying in order to understand when the time is going to shift.
***SPOILERS***
I think this movie, aside from being about music, is about the fluctuations that personalities shift through. The first of the main characters, Yuichi, doesn't really change throughout the movie and rarely speaks. The second main character, Hoshino, is initially an academic and straightlaced teenager, but becomes a bully after a near-death experience. What I'd like to know is if Hoshino would have stopped being a bully if he hadn't died. Personally, I think the answer is yes. I went through a similar "transformation" when I was around his age, and eventually reverted back after I realised what my life would have been like if I hadn't stopped. I must say, however, that I wasn't nearly as bad as Hoshino. I didn't steal (much), I didn't rape girls, and I didn't throw desks at people.

If you want to see this movie, I suggest you keep an eye out for it on SBS, or buy the DVD off Amazon.com.

[Link] | Last night was... Interesting.
Also, a warning for the future: DO NOT drink stout beer unless you are actually stout. Drink it slowly, and don't scull down four beers in the space of an hour like I did. It resulted in me enjoying the night with a massive headache lying down on my bed.
Peter: Yakked everywhere, went into the shower and collapsed, who was dragged out by Jim and lay naked in my living room, who I then escorted to Jim's bed. As you may expect, he was a bit worried when he woke up naked in a bed with someone else.
Welsh: Didn't get too drunk, ended up cleaning Pete's puke and did the dishes. Brendan is a good man.
Caleb: Turned up after I went to sleep, after I woke up I came out and I was like "Hey, it's Jesus." He's a cool dude, he didn't get drunk and spent most of the night rolling other people (me) cigarettes.
Me: I started out by drinking some Cascade Stout, after five beers I was completely off my tits and ended up yakking over the balcony, a feat which would be repeated several times over the course of the night. After Peter went to bed I ended up sleeping for a bit because I had a headache which was killing me. I came out and watched Caleb dicking around with Visual Basic, and there were two empty pizza boxes there.
Damnit!
It doesn't matter, it would have made me yak more. Seriously dudes, stay away from Cascade Stout unless you have a gut of steel.
Note: I'm not a cadbury, I had nothing to eat all day, and stout beer is fucking strong.
